Dr. Anthony W. Wade

Dr. Anthony W. Wade is the Director of Human Relations for the City of Greensboro, North Carolina. By Ordinance, he also serves as the Executive Director for both the City’s Human Relations Commission and the Commission on the Status of Women. A retired military veteran, Dr. Wade's military career includes serving as the Director of Equal Opportunity Treatment/Human Relations Education (EOT/HRE) for Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. His civilian career history includes serving as Manager of Employment, Compensation, Equal
Opportunity, and Community Outreach for Denver Water in Denver, Colorado, Interim Director of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, and Human Relations Director for New Hanover County Government in Wilmington, North Carolina. His expertise as an advisor, trainer, and facilitator has been utilized by many organizations including, but not limited to, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the African-American Leadership Institute, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Colorado Workplace Equity Coalition, The Academy of Human Resources Development, United States Air Force, Indiana Consortium of State and Local Human Rights Agencies, and the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

A graduate of Colorado State University, Dr. Wade earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education and Human Resources Studies with a specialization in Organizational Performance and Change. His awards and recognition includes, but are not limited to, Air Force Air Training Command EOT/HRE Program Manager of the Year and First-Runner-up for the same award Air Force worldwide, Denver Diversity Advisory Committee Diversity Recognition Award, Outstanding Young Men of America, and Resolutions of Appreciation for Outstanding Service as Human Relations Director from the City Council of Wilmington, North Carolina and the New Hanover Board of County Commissioners.
